About Us

One day I proposed the idea of moving to Hermann, MO. My husband, Dave, thought I was a little crazy but quickly rallied when we sold our home. Eleven years later, here we are in Labadie fulfilling my dream of owning a historic home filled with beautiful American Crafted Treasures for people to take to their own homes to love and enjoy.

My love for antiques and American crafted treasures led me to the Tin Rabbit. I realized after collecting and loving Antiques and not being able to afford the beautiful, one of a kind pieces, I would find at sales. One day I found a beautiful painted basket; that day my love for new American crafted pieces combined with my antique collections.

After visiting many shops and being the customer, I knew I wanted a wonderful shop that would remain true to the spirit of American craftsmanship.

Our shop is located in Historic Labadie, Missouri, established in 1820. Our shop is established in a restored farmhouse. The original farm was established by James North was built in 1820. We are one of only a handful of truly American Crafted stores in the United States. We love to show our customers all of our wonderful handcrafted pieces of furniture made by master craftsmen along with beautiful signed pieces of Folk Art, textiles, pictures, and lighting.
